Free components work out of the box with zero auth. If you're pulling Pro components, you'll need an API key:
PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN).Add the @paceui registry to your project's components.json. For Pro components, include the authorization header. For free components only, the headers field can be omitted:
{
"registries": {
"@paceui": {
"url": "https://paceui.com/r/{name}.json",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer ${PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN}"
}
}
}
}For Pro components, the registry reads your token from the PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN environment variable. Export it for your shell session, save it in .env.local, or pass it inline with your install command.
# Set it once for your shell session
export PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN="pk_live_xxxxxxxxxxxx"
# Or pass it inline for a single install
PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN="pk_live_xxxxxxxxxxxx" npx shadcn@latest add @paceui/chat-composerRun the CLI with the namespaced slug. Every component page lists its exact command:
npx shadcn@latest add @paceui/chat-composerThen import and use it in your project:
import { ChatComposer } from "@/components/paceui/chat-composer";
export default function Page() {
return (
<main className="flex min-h-screen items-center justify-center p-6">
<ChatComposer />
</main>
);
}This error indicates the component is a Pro component and requires authentication. Make sure:
PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN is set in .env.local or exported in your terminal session.Double-check that your components.json has the @paceui registry entry configured:
{
"registries": {
"@paceui": {
"url": "https://paceui.com/r/{name}.json",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer ${PACEUI_REGISTRY_TOKEN}"
}
}
}
}
